Tawang is most famous for having the largest Buddhist monastery in India, built in the 17th century.

The best time to visit Tawang is in spring from March-April or autumn in the months October-November. Autumn is the recommended time to visit Tawang due to the numerous festivals happening and the comfortable weather, but it can get crowded with tourists during the national holidays.

The climate of Tawang is warm and rainy during summer and clear and cold during winter. Spring and Autumn are mild, dry, and comfortable.
